Girl Scouts Visit the Sweet Tooth Shoppe

Sister Girl Scout troops visit the Sweet Tooth Shoppe – Brownie Troop 3974 joined by Daisy Troop 29034 visited Sweet Tooth and learned about sales and marketing.  Owner, Karen O’Neil challenged the girls to design an advertisement for the shop.  Both troops will be bridging to the next Girl Scout level in May – the Brownies are moving up to Juniors, and the Daisies are growing to Brownies!

Homes For Our Troops Update

dsc_0296Lucille Patton, coordinator for the “Homes for Our Troops” sporting clays tournament held a while back has provided an update regarding the success of the event.

According to Mrs. Patton, the event raised over $100,000.  This amount exceeds the amout raised the prior year and will be put to good use.  The upcoming project which will be as home built in Humble although details have not yet been announced.

Homes for Our Troops will multiply the funds raised through partnerships with local builders, materials suppliers, and subcontractors which will agree to donate many of their services in order to help build homes for injured war veterans. 

The current event major sponsor is Energy Corporation of America, which donated $25,000 for the prior event as well as the employee contributions of time and other assistance and ECA has agreed to sponsor the event again next year and is even encouraging larger sponsors to help improve the event.

Fulshear Texas, April 15th, 2009

Across the nation, communities of all sizes held Tea Parties to protest the way that our current President and Congress are wasting tax dollars as well as to rally support for returning to traditional American values.  In true American fashion, residents of the communities surrounding Fulshear came together peacefully in downtown Fulshear to add their voices and their support.

Fulshear.com was there to document the event for those who weren’t able to attend.  We know that you were there in spirit.  We have provided a brief 4 minute video that captures the spirit of the event through interviews, photos and web video.
