This year Commissioner Meyers hosted the inaugural Fort Bend Ranchers’ Ball in October, which proved to be a huge hit. Founded in 2003 by Commissioner Meyers, Fort Bend Charities, Inc., a non-profit 501 (c)(3) charity supports other worthy non-profits such as Simonton Christian Academy, Katy Christian Ministries, Lone Star Veterans Association, Katy FFA, Fort Bend Fair, and others. With the help of a dedicated committee and the generous support from many businesses and individuals, the sold-out Fort Bend Ranchers’ Ball raised $250,000 – exceeding the $85,000 average of his annual Charity Golf Tournament. Among his first stops were Simonton Christian Academy and Katy Christian Ministries where Commissioner Meyers presented a donation of $35,000 to each, a $10,000 increase from last year.
