Saturday, March 28th turned into a beautiful day for the 5th Annual Lions Charity Motorcycle Ride hosted by the Fulshear Simonton Lions Club and other local businesses. The ride raised money for “Bikers Against Child Abuse” and “The Fort Bend Women’s Shelter.” Every dollar raised went directly to these worthy charities.
The roughly 130 mile ride began at Cross Creek Ranch with stops in Industry, Bellville, and Hockley before concluding at The Bunker Icehouse in Fulshear. The wildflowers did not disappoint! They were out in full glory along the stretch of road between Sealy and Bellville.
Upon returning to Fulshear, the bikers were treated to live music from Saenz of the Time band, as well as food and drinks. Awesome Cycles sponsored bike games that had people showing off their fancy bike skills. Raffles, prizes, and awards had the event conclude on a high note.
With 104 registered riders, this year proved to be their best turn out yet, almost doubling last year’s numbers. Good food, good music, good weather, and good company, all for a good cause – is there a better way to spend your Saturday? Check the Fulshear-Simonton Lions Club website for times and dates for next year’s ride. You will not want to miss out!
